Me And Earl And The Dying Girl

(2015)
Me And Earl And The Dying Girl

Starring Thomas Mann, RJ Cyler, Olivia Cooke. (12A)

Based on the Jesse Andrews young adult novel of the same name, this comedy drama introduces us to Greg (Mann), a teen misfit at school who spends most of his time making short movies with his friend Earl. However, Greg’s mother wants him to reconnect with his childhood friend Rachel, who has just been diagnosed with leukemia, and Greg reluctantly starts spending time with her and introduces her to Earl.

A coming of age movie that gets the balance between weepie and comedy spot on, this features three terrific central performances from its young cast and a touching and funny script that calls some of the best teen movies like Say Anything and The Breakfast Club to mind. Well worth a look.
