If you’re over 13 (or a boy), the phenomenon that is Justin Bieber has probably passed you by. But to little girls he’s the tween pin-up heart-throb to beat all others with his swept over hair and angelic looks, a singer whose management used You Tube and other social media to create a mega star almost overnight. This documentary is squarely aimed at his legion of devoted fans, as it tells the Bieber story in glorious 3D (he points at you! really! squeal!), intercut with his concert performance at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York.

There’s drama (oh my goodness! could the concert be cancelled because of his sore throat?!), warm family moments (he loves his grandpa – aww) and behind the scenes footage of Justin studying on the tour bus, shaving (which is hilarious since he has no stubble) and doing all sorts of cute things (some of them shirtless, squeal!), as well as video footage of him as a kid. For a tweenie girl who has yet to discover cynicism, it will be a treat, wrapped up in a pink bow and sprinkled with unicorn-shaped sprinkles. For accompanying parents, it has the occasional interesting moment, and a few hilarious ones (his fans are bordering on scary and his earnestness has to be seen to be believed) that may prevent you from dropping off, but really, if you are old enough to drive you may be better off dropping the kids at the cinema door and collecting their quivering, sobbing bodies when it’s over 105 minutes later.
