Let’s put on a show! That’s the basic premise of this kids’ movie aimed at X-Factor/Britain’s Got Talent most undiscriminating fans. Filmed in 3D for no apparent reason, it’s made for tweenies, and follows young wannabe-dancer Jaden (Osei-Mansfield) as he teams up with the more street-smart Ethan (Horrid Henry’s Stevenson) to put on a fundraising benefit in the hope they’ll save their local community centre from being closed down.

Even young kids will have seen this all before on TV and the big screen, from the StreetDance movies to Nativity 2, while grown-ups dragged along can embarrass themselves – and their kids – by claiming in a loud voice that the plot is borrowed from Cliff Richard’s The Young Ones. There are some cool dance sequences and all the cast – including Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh – are fine, but in the end this is a toe-tapping but forgettable movie for true talent show fans only.
